In the year 1943, the plot of All Things Fair unfolds. The main character, Stig, crosses paths with his teacher, Viola, triggering a life-altering chain of events. Despite their significant age difference – 37 for Viola and 15 for Stig – they engage in a forbidden relationship. Viola, trapped in a marriage with a perpetually drunken and unfaithful husband, rationalizes her affair with Stig. Meanwhile, a young girl living nearby harbors feelings for Stig, pained by his apparent lack of awareness toward her. As the affair spirals into dangerous territory, Viola faces grave risks. Ultimately, Stig comes to realize the true nature of love with someone closer to his own age, leading to a tumultuous conclusion where Viola exacts a heavy price for his newfound understanding.
